APPol Corps Time is an extension of orientation, but instead of being focused solely on academics, APPol Corps Time is geared toward helping you make friends, learning your way around campus and learning more about the university before classes start.
New students are assigned APPol Corps leaders according to what residence hall floor they are living on. APPol Corps Time happens the day after you move in. Your APPol Corps leader will email you when and where to meet at your residence hall.
Your APPol Corps leaders will serve as your guide and resource to many of the events happening during Welcome to App. Events are happening daily, and many events offer FREE FOOD and PRIZES, so be sure to check out our calendar of events to make sure you don't miss anything. At the end of the session, enjoy an Ice Cream Social with your APPol Corps leaders!!!

Discuss the Common Reading Book, Be Different, and have your academic questions answered by App State faculty and staff. Remember to bring your copy of Be Different with you so you can get a good idea of what some of your classroom discussions might look like. (See your Appol Corps leader for more information.)

An annual tradition - bring an old t-shirt from your last college or military service and swap it out for a new Appalachian t-shirt (for the first 150 students)! Meet our Transfer Student Mentors, staff from Transfer Admissions & Engagement, and lots of other new students!! This relaxed, fun event will also include frozen candy bars, yard games, and a special appearance from Yosef!

Welcome to Party in the Union - Game Night Edition! During this Welcome to App event, come explore the Plemmons Student Union and meet various campus offices/resources. In addition to learning about campus resources, there will be entertainment and activities throughout the union. Participants will receive a passport and once it is filled out, it can be turned in for a chance to win a prize! This is an event you don't want to miss!
