Congratulations on joining the Mountaineer family at Appalachian State University!
Our goal during Welcome to APP is for you to become more comfortable at Appalachian, to make new friends, to have fun, and to start weaving yourself into the fabric of student life at Appalachian. Welcome activities serve as an extension of your orientation. Take advantage of Welcome to APP events to ensure a great start at Appalachian!

What? After Orientation, join your SOUL (Student Orientation Undergradate Leaders) for bingo and a FREE dinner.

Lunch & Get to Know ASU
When? Saturday, Jan 10th, 11am - 1pm
Where? Holmes Convocation Center Room 15AB
What? Join us for a FREE lunch, icebreaker, and App State Trivia. This is a great opportunity to connect with other new students, get some free food and win some cool App State Swag! We'll then go as a group to cheer on the Women's Basketball team. Transfer Student Mentors will be outside the ground level entrance of the Convocation Center facing John E Thomas Hall and point you inside to the room.

When? Saturday, Jan 10th, 1pm
Where? Meet at the Lunch & Get to Know ASU
What? Join us as the App State Women’s Basketball team takes on Southern Miss.

UREC Day
When? Sunday, Jan 11th, 1-3pm
Where? Student Recreation Center
What? Join UREC for some volleyball, basketball, cornhole, dodgeball, and/or indoor soccer!
*No need to register ahead of time!

Walk Your Class Schedule
When? Sunday, Jan 11th, 3pm
Where? Meet at the Yosef Statue on Rivers Street
What? Make sure you are prepared for the first day of class! Bring a copy of your class schedule and a Transfer Student Mentors will walk you around campus so you can find your buildings!

App State Scavenger Hunt
When? Friday, January 9th - Thursday, January 15
Where? All over campus
What? Explore campus while competing against other new students for prizes! All throughout the first week you can log in and complete challenges. If you have the most points by 11:59pm on January 15th you'll be contacted to collect your prize!
To participate - download the Scavify App (hunt will open Jan 9 at 9am), create an account, and search for the Winter Welcome to App hunt. Follow the instructions to complete as many tasks as possible.

Winter Weather
